Generation is only the start. AI Image 2’s edit loop in AI Chat (region edits + dialog iteration + aspect switch) often beats full re-rolls for time and fidelity. This tutorial is a hands-on manual in real revision order.

1. Dialog iteration: one dimension per turn

Template

Keep the previous image composition and subject unchanged, only apply:
- [change item 1]
Do not change: background, product angle, unmentioned text.

Examples

Change only: headline to “Year-End Gala”, color #C41E3A.
Change only: remove passerby on the right.
Change only: background from indoor to sunset beach; product stays.

Avoid: changing copy, product, style, and ratio together—the model will full redraw.

2. Region select editing

Open generated image in edit mode.
Brush/box select the target area (tight to edges).
Enter precise instruction, e.g.:
- Change selected headline to "NEW" bold red
- Change selected cup to blue ceramic; rest unchanged
Zoom 100% to check seams and lighting.

Good for regions: title bars, price tags, single product/face, local blemishes. Poor for: whole-image grade, multi-object lighting chains.

3. One-click aspect switch

Change the previous image to 9:16 vertical Story,
subject centered, top 15% safe zone for headline "Summer Special",
do not crop off the product on the sides.

After switching, verify text is not cropped—portrait often trims side slogans.

4. Reference-driven editing

Upload approved brand product photography.

Match the earbuds in the uploaded reference photo,
generate the same earbuds on a café table lifestyle scene,
do not alter earbud structure, blurred background.

Better than pure text for “earbuds turning into beans” problems.

5. Editing Thinking series images

If image 5 in a Thinking series fails:

First region-edit image 5 with the series “character lock” sentence.
If still failing, solo prompt: “Continue series 1–4 style, regenerate image 5: …”
Avoid Instant fixes on Thinking series—style may drift.

6. Pre-export QA checklist (print beside monitor)

All quoted copy spelled correctly
Prices, dates, legal terms match ops sheet
No extra fingers, warped text, fake logos
Brand color near hex (±10% visual OK)
Critical info inside safe zones
Resolution meets platform minimum

7. When to abandon edit and regenerate

Limb structure errors
Large text wrong 3+ times
Product category wrong (shoe became bag)

Then tighten brief via Prompt engineering and Thinking re-roll—faster than endless local patches.

Practice (20 minutes)

Generate one 16:9 banner with two Chinese lines.
Region-edit headline color only.
Dialog-switch to 1:1; check crop.
Note which step took longest—optimize templates next week.
